What you'll accomplish
By the end of this guide, you'll have Otter.ai set up to automatically transcribe your lender rep visits, product provider training calls, AFIP study sessions, and any other learning content you encounter. Instead of forgetting 80% of what you heard, you'll have a searchable written record of every training you attend.
What you'll need
- An Otter.ai account (free at otter.ai — 300 minutes/month transcription on the free plan)
- Your phone or laptop for recording
- Permission to record meetings (check your dealership policy; for personal study calls, it's fine)
- Time needed: 10 minutes to set up; runs automatically after that
- Cost: Free (300 min/month); $10/month for OtterPilot with Zoom/Teams integration

Step 1: Create your Otter.ai account
Go to otter.ai and click "Sign up for free." Use your email or sign in with Google.
What you should see: You land on a dashboard showing "My Conversations" (empty for now). Troubleshooting: If you have trouble accessing otter.ai from your work network, try on your phone's data connection instead.
